:: SUMMARY ::

Xatrian Crux is a LARP "Live Action Roleplaying" (audience participation & impromptu, interactive live theater) event, which combines in-depth roleplay with live-combat possibilities, and allows for all attendees, new players and characters, as well as established characters from other LARPS, to play together. Attendees do not have to be experienced roleplayers to enjoy this event, and may attend simply to enjoy the atmosphere; storylines, dancefloor, socializing, setting, etc. However, all attendees (roleplaying or not) must adhere to the rules of conduct, and those who are "Non-Combatant" (all General Attendees) must wear an identifying, visible, and classy band on their person which conveys this desired position throughout the duration of the event (See Pre-Reg below for more info on "Non-Combatant" status for RPers).

"The majority of characters, from other worlds and dimensions, have arrived via invitation pods sent from the owner of Xatrian Crux himself." This brings everyone together in a kind of 'LARP cross-over', within a pocket dimension where the rules shift just enough to become unpredictable, yet familiar enough to allow for the ease of interaction among the attendees. It also allows for the characters, once returned to their worlds, to retain elements of their experience gained from this event, and apply them to their character (with Xatrian Crux, other Larp Alliance events, and participating LARPs).

All Attendees (General & Roleplayer) enjoy the DJ, vendors, numerous storylines, stage and floor entertainment, XC Arena Tournament, Krim's Bar, otherworldly displays, colorful surprises, and more.

:: PRE-REGISTRATION ::

Pre-Registration and Group discounts are available. More Info to come.

Roleplayers: You must Pre-Register in order for all character information to be included in the game/storyline. If you do not pre-register, you may still attend by paying the door fee, however, you may be registered as a "Non-Combatant". "Non-Combatants" are attendees who are not affecting the active storylines of the event with a character's physical behavior -mostly you are an onlooker and socializer, though you can still get interaction with XC staff characters and other roleplayers. Please RSVP if possible though to help us get a good head count prior to the event even if you are planning to be "Non-Combatant". For a Roleplayer, this means that you must concede in any 'storylined physical contest' that should arise. (More details in Game Mechanics)

All Attendees: Everyone is expected to know the basic rules of conduct (Behavior Basics) as displayed on this website.

Weapons:: No live steel! (Meaning if you have a real blade on you, it must be in its sheath at ALL times. This is the same rule for attendees at a Renaissance Faire). No guns allowed unless they are only costume weapons which have been specificially LARP-approved! If you are not a roleplayer, or are "Non-Combatant" registered, you may not wield any weapon, whether the weapon is 'live steel' or 'LARP-approved'.

Costume Requirements (IMPORTANT FOR GENERAL PUBLIC) :: Costume is Mandatory! This event desires original costumes of the attendees' own design; not a character which is well-known, such as Superman, Yoda, Pokemon, The Engine, or Frodo. If you are in a too-obvious costume, you may not be permitted to enter.

Roleplayers must come up with a costume (character attire/appearance), character name, age, sex, history, interests, personality, quirks, race, world, etc and be prepared to become what you make to the best of your ability. You should print out your final character sheet for yourself to keep with you at the event for personal and public reference as needed. If you forget to bring your character stats (C sheet) with you to the event, and require us to print it out for you, we will charge a small fee, or request a trade in services, to do so. This is an trust based system to an extent, as we don't expect you to whip out your C Sheet constantly, nor have years of professional theatre under your belt, so showing respect to your fellow attendees is the ultimate and don't let the little things interrupt game flow for yourself or others. And most of all, have fun!

Character Creation Note:: This event desires original characters of the attendees' own design; not a character which is well-known to the majority of Earthian people, such as Superman, Yoda, Pokemon, The Engine, or Frodo. This is to prevent the majority of the event from instantly knowing or taking advantage of the player's character's weaknesses, quirks, strengths, etc. This also ensures that all players in the event are given fair chances to express themselves and their characters, both in interaction, as well as in combat. You may though, create a similar character, using our Game Mechanics. Just be aware of the downsides to appearing so obviously familiar to the crowd. All character submittions must also pass Plot inspection prior to being allowed at the event. This is to ensure that the 'point pool' has been used accurately, that the character is appropriate, and that the character can be catered to at the event. If, for some strange reason, the submittion does not pass, it will be returned to the player with suggestions noted. We don't nit-pick on stats, as we trust everyone to be honest when creating their characters, but if something seems quite obviously off, we will take note to it and help you fix it quickly.

:: VIP ::

For an extra fee, you may arrange to have a private party setup (As of now, only those Pre-Registering as Roleplayers may become VIP). Becoming VIP gives you a far greater protected, private gathering area, and adds to the importance of your character (such as with nobility). Each person in your VIP party must be pre-registered for the event and have the VIP payment, and appropriate VIP info included on the form when submitted. VIP treatment includes the following: Your own booth area for up to 6 people, server, and your own High Guard (these elite guards assist in watching over your belongings, and ensure that your seats remain open for only you and/or your VIP group during the entire event). You may set up VIP treatment for more people (over 6), and in such case, you will then receive two separate booth areas beside eachother, and two guards (1 guard per up to 6 people). The booth set up may change slightly depending on the venue's interior, however, you will still remain beside your accompanying VIP parties. The venue will also determine how many total VIP individuals or groups we can tend to, and if there is a cap, it will be posted. Generally, the cap will be no more than 6 occupied VIP sections (either by an individual or group) per event. There is a group discount for more than 3 'pre-reg' VIP people.

:: Krim's Bar & Specialty Food / Drink ::

*Everyone: Alcoholic beverages (21+ with ID) and non-alcoholic beverages (bottled water, Monsters, soda) will be served.
*Note for Roleplayers Only: Roleplayers note that alcoholic beverages do not have applicable effects to your in-game character. This event serves beverages which, In-Game (meaning, "for the Roleplayers"), may sometimes effect your character differently than it usually does for your real body. The effects are only on your character; Not on your more common form beneath. The drink prices depend on the Specialty Drink's effects on your Character as well as on the drink's ingredients or In-Game accessibility. Bartender Krim will note to you whether or not you take an effect from a drink. Water is the only exception, as you may tell the Bartender, per bottled water order, that you do not wish to include this drink as part of your character's actions. This is to prevent people from putting off hydration of their real body just to keep their character alive.

:: Rating & Behavior Basics ::

This event is rated approximately PG-13, as it will contain some violence, mature situations, startling visuals, aggressive behavior, sexual situations and so forth, just as most classic adventure and comedy movies do. However, these are all In-Character elements which harm noone in real life and only add to the drama and excitement of the event. And as this is a 'family and general-public' oriented event, we do not allow the following....nudity (this specifically means showing nothing publically illegal), no spitting, wrestling, cheating, tripping, or shoving anyone, and there is no grabbing or touching anyone without their permission. With regards to physically aggressive behavior, you may do so while In-Character, though only through the Game Mechanics' role-play or phys-reps (these can be items or communications which represent an action - such as with using fake spit, pretending to spit, or voicing your character's spitting action to another. not actually spitting on the player). Additionally, there must be concentual participation on some level with any action that involves another directly (as with the above mentioned, as well as done when taking a sword fight or mage battle into the XC Arena). Note: There is no melee or projectile fighting in the following locations: dance floor, bar area, display and vendor booths/caves, on stage, entrance and exit planks) for the safety of the participants. Combat is to be contained in the Battle Arena.
